The Long Plain First Nation will hold an in-person Ratification Vote in accordance with the Long Plain First Nation Community Ratification Process on the following dates in order to determine if the Eligible Voters approve their Land Code dated April 24, 2014 and the Individual Agreement between the First Nation and Canada. Saturday: July 22, 2017 at 470 Madison Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Sunday: July 23, 2017 at Victoria Inn, 335 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba; Thursday: August 3, 2017 at Powwow Grounds, Long Plain Reserve. Copies of the Long Plain First Nation Land Code and Individual Agreement and summaries of the documents can be found on the Long Plain Lands Department website and also linked to our Lands Department Facebook page. All members of the Long Plain First Nation 18 years of age and older on the day of the Ratification Vote are eligible to vote, provided that the such members have submitted a complete, signed and witnessed voter registration document to the Ratification or Deputy Ratification Officer before the close of polls in the case of the in-person vote and mail in ballot. In the case of electronic voting, voters will complete a registration document through the electronic registration system before being able to cast their vote. Any registered voter may vote in person, by Mail-in-Ballot or by Electronic Voting.
